Cognitive Restructuring Can Aid in Correcting Self Defeating Behavior

Creating a manualized cognitive restructuring program that is effective in helping people overcome flawed thinking and self-defeating behaviors is an art that very few have mastered.

The question is, is it possible to go into the subconscious mind and alter thoughts? YES! The secret can be found in Dr David Hawkens book on truth vs. falsehoods. The truth has a force that has the ability to penetrate the veil of self-imposed false beliefs and aid people in discovering the truth about themselves. That is, help them realize they are so much greater than they think they are.

Creating a cognitive restructuring curriculum entails possessing a great knowledge of the truth, otherwise the written words will have no penetrating energy. Untrue words drop off the page and onto the floor. There they disintegrate and die and are forgotten along with millions of other untrue words.

True words elevate people to a higher calibration while untrue words depress. True words have a higher intelligence that stimulates energies that vibrate at a frequency that people will accept. It is this power that has the ability to change flawed thinking.

After working with domestic violence victims it is enlightening to see this self-actualization process. The majority of abused women believe that they have less value than they really do. By the time they reach the 3rd or 4th session of applying true words delivered through a correctly structured cognitive restructuring program, the truth starts to have its affect.

This reprogramming is shown in their physical, mental and emotional animation. The before and after manifestation for most are outstanding and permanent. However don't forget that cognitive restructuring counseling is an invitation to change, not a force. Only the client has the responsibility to change him/herself. The main reason counseling programs are ineffective is because they arent set up properly and they contain very little penetrating truth. This is because the person or people who wrote it didn't have the necessary truth. People can go to psychotherapy sessions for years and not change due to the fact that the therapist is not aligned with the truth. The truth has the ability to have a enduring impact on people in only a matter of hours, but it must be present.
