Three Ways To Kill Your Business With Email
You spent hundreds of hours dedicated to building your e-mail lists and now you want to start making money from it. You've done the marketing, you've created the squeeze page to funnel subscribers into your e-mail lists, and now you want to start selling to your subscribers. That's all well and good but let me tell you about three of the most common ways to effectively kill your lists.
Tip #1 - Constantly trying to sell the product you are promoting is an absolutely great way to kill your e-mail list. An e-mail list is not for selling a product that you are promoting; it's for pre-selling a product that you are promoting. Do you understand the difference? The purpose of your e-mail list is to inform them about the product and possibly get them excited about the product. Then send them to the product sales page and let the cells page do the selling for you.
Tip number two is that if you want to ruin your e-mail lists, amplifying every single aspect of the product you're try to push is a good way to do it. When you hype something up too much, it either sounds to good to be true or does not sound sincere. Rather then hyping the product up, you should be truthful; expressing concern for both product and the needs and beliefs of the reader. Enthusiastic personal (and truthful) claims to the product's abilities go along way in gaining the trust and confidence of your audience. If you use the truth instead of hype, you'll find that time and time again it is the truth that is the method that will successfully promote the product and keep your hard-earned email list.
Tip #3 - Grammar, grammar, grammar! Probably the best way to kill your list is to simply make it unreadable. For God's sake, use a spellchecker or at least have someone proofread your emails before you send them out to your list. Lord knows that I've received hundreds of emails from proclaimed top internet marketing 'gurus' and they were just too irritating to read. Spend some time getting your message across properly and it will repay you one hundred times over.
Finally, you expect your list to flourish and mature daily. Your emails must reflect the product you are promoting. Also, they must generate curiosity about your products. Moreover, they should be clear to read and understand. All these would ensure that you never have to delete your email list and that you earn well.
