Building Your Mailing List With Tested Methods

Are you into Internet marketing? If you are, do you have a mailing list? If not then it is about time you plan on building your mailing list. Having a mailing list and using it the right way will help your online business tremendously. Here are a few tips that will help you get started.

1. Viral E-Books – Distribute your viral e-book to the masses. Encourage recipients to pass on the e-book for free and state clearly in the e-book that it comes with giveaway rights. Make sure you include a link to your subscription box in the viral e-book or else you will lose the benefit of viral e-book marketing.

2. Sales Letter – Write a sales letter as if you are going to sell something but at the bottom of it is only a subscription box to your mailing list. Bring up the benefits of your newsletter and present it as if it were a product to sell. You will be actually selling something, which is your newsletter at no cost.

3. Solo-Ads – You can buy solo-ads in other e-zines. Solo-ads are slightly more expensive but worth the attention. The readers only get to see your ads and not any other distracting ads that are around. Make sure your ad is well written with only one purpose, which is to attract subscribers.

4. Incentives – Offering an incentive to join your mailing list is another good way to build your list. You can offer an e-book or software download to entice your subscribers. But take note this method of list building also attracts a number of freebie seekers; therefore your list may not contain a high number of genuine readers.

5. E-zine Directories – Submit to as many e-zine directories as possible. There are paid and free ones available in the Internet. It is good to have a mixture of both to maximize your e-zine exposure to readers. Look thru the search engines and find one that is within your budget.

6. Article Banks – Write free articles and submit them to article banks or article directories. At the bottom of each article there is a resource box for the author or contributor. Include a little bio about yourself or your website and most importantly include a link that points to your subscription box.

7. Blogs – Create a weblog of your niche and place a subscription box at the top. Write blogs on your niche and post daily at first if possible. Submit your weblog to blog directories and social bookmarking services. Join a few blog communities and participate in feedback or comments to show your authority in your niche.

8. Use PPC – Use pay per click to build up your subscriber base. But be very careful because if not done properly this could end up being very costly. Set up your ad so that it points back to your sign-up page and try to throw in a freebie download to entice your readers.
