Hartstone pottery-yesterday and today
The Hartstone Pottery Company has its origins in the USA; more precisely its main factory store is in Zanesville, Ohio. The Hartstone manufacturers have had their problems in the past but are now back on the pottery market along with renowned stoneware retailers like Plow&Hearth or Orvis. Since 2005 when the Company has undergone some major personnel and management changes, million dollar renovations were made to the factory.
All Hartstone items are hand made and serve for different purposes y being useful kitchen objects, tabletops, ovens or simply decorative presents. Hartstone pottery is dishwasher and freezer safe and can be used in conventional ovens as well as in microwave ovens.
Hartstone stoneware is all produced from the finest raw materials; clay bodies are then burned on special ovens at 2200 degrees Fahrenheit and come out with the ivory color. All colorants used in the pottery finishing are cadmium free. Final decorations are hand manufactured in Zanesville, Ohio.
