This concept came into being in the year 1989, and entire credit goes to the science community CERN. Initially when this was invented, it was more for an idea to share information among scientific communities and institutes.
The World Wide Web now caters to the needs of commercial and academic users. Now millions of people around the world use this medium to get any kind of information. This is made available through a web server on the Internet. Without this, no one will be able to host any kind of website. One can easily jump from one site to the other because of specially formatted documents.
To make use of the World Wide Web one will need web browsers. There are two popular browsers called Internet Explorer as well as Mozilla Firefox. There are many networks on this medium, which allow people to access information very easily. This also has a virtual library, which will have all information about the web servers etc. This creation is very popularly called the W3.
The best part of the use of the World Wide Web is that there will be no need for users to trace where the information is being held. Since all the information is on electronic documents, there will be no need to know how it is being formatted as well. If you move from one web page to another, it is known as browsing. If the right software is used by the user, then any sort of document can be viewed through the W3.
This is completely different from the Internet and is only a form of communication through the Internet. There is something called a road system which is used in this medium for making information available to the public. There will be the cables, which will be the physical parts of the connection. Then you will need the Internet, and last of all the services or the W3 is required to deliver the information.
All websites on the Internet use this to get the information across. Anyone from anywhere in the world can begin to browse and access any site they want. This is the most popular way of communication in today’s world.
