Cat Behaviors Can Be Treated And Solved

A cat is an intelligent, easy-care pet that you might consider if you don't want one that takes a lot of effort. They are are also fairly low cost. They are not overly dependent on their owners, and because most cat behaviors are easy to live with, they require very little in the way of training. Think about adopting a cat as your new best friend! Some cat behaviors that need to be addressed are: spraying, scratching, and attacking. Some cats are looking for trouble, others are just scared and defending themselves. A cat appearing aggressive may really just be wanting to have fun and play. Cat behaviors such as this should be monitored, in any event, just in case they lead to bad behavior. Sometimes your cat's behavior may appear to be aggressive or hostile and this might be because the cat had been mistreated by previous owners or rescued from neglect. If a cat has been badly treated in the past, abandoned, or is simply not used to human contact and affection then he or she may be afraid of people. The most important way to establish a good relationship with your cat is to show that you are trustworthy. By leaving the cat alone and allowing it to explore at his or her own leisure, the cat will soon realize that you can be trusted. Show lots of love and patience toward your cat. Sometimes this alone can help resolve aggressive cat behaviors. One of the most important things you can give a cat is space. Kittens thrive in open areas where they can run around and play. Adult cats appreciate space, as well, for if they feel cornered, they are likely to lash out. Sometimes cats have issues that are difficult to diagnose. Occasionally the owner can see a cat vet to assess the problem. When diagnosis is successful, treatment can begin. All cats are individually unique, each has its own mannerisms and the like, and it is important to compare the cats actions to its prior actions and not other cats. Some cats have lots of pep, for others it is entirely normal to be lazy and lethargic all day. What is healthy action for one cat can be a sign of illness in another. Consult with your cat vet to assess your cat as an individual. Please keep in mind that most difficulties are not irreparable. You may become frustrated with your animal, but should not abandon or shut them out simply because desired changes are not happening immediately. Being a companion to a cat, as with anything involving people and an animal that has its own likes and dislikes, means adjustment. Part of responsibility is accepting the quirks of cat behaviors.

About the Author: Cats are pets that are easy-care and fairly inexpensive. Feline behavior can be aggressive if the cat was abused or unsocialized, but may also appear to be aggressive if the cat is either afraid or being playful. If an owner has questions, they should consult their cat vet for suggestions about behavior. Good health care is also critical to good behavior. Patience and willingness to tolerate harmless cat behaviors, and learning to play with and understand your cat, helps to establish trust.
