Self-Awareness
Most individuals possess the necessary physical abilities to succeed, however several lack emotional or cognitive skills. When someone's self esteem is increased their emotional IQ or EQ and willingness to make serious changes increases as well.
Cognitive Restructuring has the ability to help those who are suffering from the following issues: * Sadness * Phobias * Childhood abuse * Lack of goals * Loneliness * Broken relationships * Lack of hope * Fear * Illness * Decision making * Worry * Self betrayal * Depression * Coping * Hate/vengeance * Stress * Rejection * Self control *Anger * Self esteem * Insecurity * Divorce * Lack of empathy * Suicide * Co dependency * Drug addiction *Alcohol addiction * Eating disorders
The first and most vital step to overcoming the above issues and the highest hurdle is self deception. Those who live in the box of self-deception are always blaming other people for their problems. Humans fail to realize the most difficult problem they have in life is the battle with themselves. If you're unhappy and unsuccessful Are you the one to blame? The following six steps are a necessary for self-improvement. There are no shortcuts and they must be done in order. The most successful tool to help people leave the old destructive behaviors behind is Manualized Cognitive Restructuring . This is capable of helping individuals defeat faulty thinking and behaviors.
One of the psychological differences between humans and other mammals is that humans are capable of being self aware. That is to say, they can see and accept their faults and shortcomings. With self awareness humans can become better and change their lives. Changing habits, thoughts, values, attitudes and behavior is a hard thing. For instance, if you wish to transform a hardened criminal into a law abiding citizen the change would have to come from within the criminal. Criminals would have to accept responsibility for their behavior. As long as they won't accept responsibility they will never change. To successfully help criminals, you must first make them self-aware. This making them aware" process is referred to as reality therapy. You cant force criminals to change, however, you can force them to become self-aware. Self-awareness is the first step in changing criminal offenders into good citizens. Abide by these steps to make a complete change. There are no shortcuts.
Step #1- AWARENESS Self-awareness is the first step in improving yourself. You must accept your weaknesses. You cannot change without becoming self-aware.
Step #2- DESIRE If you dont want to change, you wont. You have free will and cannot be forced. You have freedom to choose. It is completely up to you; it is your choice. No desire=no change.
Step #3- ATTITUDE If you're aware of your weaknesses and wish to improve you will automatically lift your attitude. Again, it's your choice.
Step #4- SKILL Although they are vital, self-awareness, desire and a good attitude aren't quite enough; developing the skills and knowledge of how to change is also imperative.
Step #5- BEHAVIOR Master steps one through four and you're ready physically to do what's required. Follow them for ninety days and they will be a habit. Follow them for a year and they will become part of you.
Step #6- SUBCONCIOUS As soon as you get a habit into your subconscious, it becomes automatic. You dont have to think about it; you've made the change. Great!
If you keep on doing what you have been doing, you will keep on getting what you have been getting. If you want to change what you have been getting, you have to change what you've been doing in the past. The first step in changing what you are is to overcome denial, bad scripting and distorted thinking The only way to achieve this is through following the above 6 steps.
