Building Websites for Your Affiliate Marketing Business Can Be So Easy!

Did you really believe for one second that you can be successful in affiliate marketing without your very own website? Sure, you can run advertisement campaigns in Google Adwords and direct visitors directly to the merchant's website but as you already know by now, this can be a very expensive method of advertising.

Not only that, there's no guarantee visitors will make a purchase once they landed on the merchant's site. They might just be "browsing".

So having your own website can be very helpful in this instance. Your website can provide visitors a compelling reason to buy or show them alternative products and ultimately encourage them to take up any offer that was available at the merchant's site.

Don't worry, building a simple website for your affiliate marketing business isn't too difficult. It does take some time to learn but it'll be time well spent. What are the first consideration when building a website? You need to have already determined what your site is about and the type of products you are going to promote.

Next, you should register a domain name that is meaningful for your niche. A good practice is decide on a keyword for your niche and try to incorporate the keyword in your domain name as well. Visitors are more likely to visity your site when they can identify with the domain name because it tells them what you are about at a glance. And before I forget, always register a .com domain name, it's the most professional looking and also for practical a reason.

Average surfers usually type out a domain name with a .com in a browser's address bar. If you share a same domain with another marketer but yours end with the .net or any other extension, you would've lost valuable traffic to this guy!

Next is the matter of choosing a reliable web hosting company. There are tens of thousands of web hosts you can choose from. Some charging as low as $3 to as high as $30 a month, depending on the hosting package.

My personal advice is to sign up for a reseller hosting account, this way you pay only one fee every month but get to host any number of domains you want. This is especially useful when you are promoting merchants in multiple niches.

Okay, here comes the fun part. This is when you can start creating webpages. You don't have to know HTML to design a webpage, There are many free tools on the web that allow you to design a webpage like Microsoft Word. You put in the necessary texts and graphics and the HTML codes are taken care of in the background.

Your website needs to look professional but it doesn't have to win an artistic award. There are plenty of web templates you can use, either download free or purchase, so you can save valuable time.

Of course, it will do you a world of good if you can gain the necessary knowledge as you build your website. For exampe, where to look for quality and affordable stock photos or grahics. And how to incorporate search engine optimization on-site strategies, etc.
As you move up the learning curve, you'll start to come up with
better websites in much lesser time.

One very critical aspect of a good website is content. You must have relevant and high quality content to attract traffic. And more importantly, to keep them coming back. You can write the content yourself but that will take time and a fair amount of research plus
knowledge. Alternatively, you can hire a ghost writer to write the content but put your name down as the author.

Make sure also that your content are keyword rich. Meaning they should content specific keywords visitors in your niche are looking for.

Your website should not contain bold colors and must be easy on the reader's eyes. Nothing puts me off than a bright red head graphic that keeps distracting me from the actual content of a site. On the other hand, it cannot be too plain. Experiment and play around, that's how you learn and get better with each site you create.

Once your site is ready, you can now start driving targeted traffic and be ready to see sales. Good luck!
