Kyanite & Turquoise
I once again turned to the Crystal Ally cards for guidance this month. Three things were on my mind, "April showers bring May flowers", spring cleaning (I am still in the process of unpacking!) and the time change "Spring forward, fall back". I think the 2 cards I drew are the perfect crystals to use as building blocks to spring clean internally and start the thought process to successfully manifest your intentions.
Turquoise everyone is familiar with but you may not have experienced Kyanite. Don't be put off, it is a very common crystal and not even as expensive as Turquoise! I encourage you to check online (www.crystalcaravan.com is reputable as well as www.naisha.com) and branch out and within by using Kyanite this month!
First Turquoise, which gets it’s bright blue color from a high concentration of copper. Any greenish streaks (and the green blue Tibetan variety) come from the presence of iron. It is one of the most valued stones and longest used throughout the world. It carries an ancient air to it’s healing. Known widely in Native American jewelry here in the States it was mined by Ancient Egyptians as far back as 3200 BC . Beads dating 5000 BC have been found in Iraq and it is still the national gem of Iran and the most prized in Tibet.
In the Crystal Ally cards it represents “Wholeness”. Wholeness of self and wholeness as humankind, wholeness as a state of being. It vibrates strongly with the throat chakra aiding communication and manifestation of truth. It gently reminds us what is still is even when we fall out of sync. This realization of the truth of things eases the transition back to our natural state of being. It is wise with the wisdom of all who have experienced it. It is considered a Storm element so it does resonate with all the chakras and increase lifeforce energy (prana). With it’s throat chakra power though it is extremely useful to treat emotional and psychological issues especially ones affecting the solar plexus chakra too. Issues like self forgiveness, integrating past mistakes with present knowledge, communicating your needs and reconnecting with your Spirit guides. Turqouise is also very powerful at purifying and protection. It stabilizes and calms when there is outside influences causing stress.
For physical ailments use Turquoise to treat gout, and rheumatism. It is an anti-inflammetory and detoxifer. Use it also to treat pollution ailments, enhance the immune systems (both psychic and physical) and for viral infections. Can also be used for cataracts. It is excellent as an elixer and beneficial to where all the time as jewelry. Place especially on the throat or solar plexus
NOTE: Howlite is often dyed Blue to look like Turquoise. It is very “veiny” and much cheaper than Turquoise even would be. Turquoise is also often dyed for jewelry. It still has the same properties as always I suggest buying the stones that resonate with you!
Kyanite comes in several colors, most commonly blue and black but also green, pink, yellow and gray. It is often “pearlized” in appearance and looks similar to Tourmaline but instead of rods Kyanite is laid down in blades. I personally think Kyanite was the inspiration for Kryptonite at least viusally!
It has a very spiritual energy and it’s no surprise it’s meaning in the Crystal Ally cards is “Inner Bridges”. Meaning closing any gaps in your inner flow so you can go deeper within knowing yourself. Often times we hold on to old emotions and patterns that cause discord and “holes” in our auras and disrupt chakra flow. These disconnects cause major trauma if left unchecked especially to our spiritual selves. How easy is it to live on “auto-pilot” only functioning on base or survival levels. It’s a vicious cycle, stress causes us to shut down and living shut down causes stress. Our Ego can become like any other being- commited to it’s own domination and survival. Kyanite can help bring our many selves (physical, emotional, spiritual, mental and psychological) back into harmony.
Kyanite is very useful at bringing a spiritual energy to the chakras and you can use the corresponding color for almost each one! Blue is especially popular as the throat chakra is easily blocked and tends to be where bottled up emotions start to “choke” us. The 5th chkara flowers when in contact with blue or indigo Kyanite. The base chakra is also taken to a deeper level with black Kyanite. It grounds and cleanses by connecting to energy deep within the Earth and ourselves. Green Kyanite restores balance as it centers the Heart Chakra and Yellow connects the Ego with the rest of ourselves when it starts to take over J.
Phsyically it’s a natural pain reliever and it’s balancing properties help release excess weight. Use it to treat the chakras and ailments associated with each for the highest effiency of Kyanite’s abilities.
Meditation Suggestion for Kyanite and Turquoise:
For this meditation start be either sitting or standing and grounding yourself briefly. Take several deep slow breaths and focus on your awareness of your body. How the inside of your nose feels when you inhale, notice your lungs fill with air and finally conciously exhale with the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth. This should feel slightly forceful and make a soft sound. Focus on each sensation, noise and movement as you let any thoughts go.
Now we will envision a crystal lake. It can be surrounded by your favorite peaceful and still scenery. I like the Arizona desert with it’s speckled green mountains and bright blue sky. The focus is this crystal clear deep lake. At first it is deep and dark and still but as your vision approachs closer and closer you see the lake is lightening in color as it freezes over with blades of ice. As it continues freezing you notice the colors. First red, so bright and vibrant on the surface but deepens to an almost black red as you step on to the frozen lake. You are drawn to the other side by a feeling as if you are already there. You start to skate across feeling better and better like you are at home and everywhere all at once. By the time you have glided across you see the beautiful orange, again crisp on the surface but deepening as you look into the lake. You skate the orange path across your energy and drive strengthening as you go. You turn around to go across the sunny yellow streaks of ice feeling joyful and free! Midpoint on the lake is a green make up of all the greens in nature, this pass across the lake is one of balance and nuturing. You are feeling more and more in touch with all the different parts of your being and understanding yourself in news ways never imagined. Where the first half of the lake was experienced in the bright light of the Sun the last half will be seen by the light of the full Moon. It starts with a shining blue blade of ice, narrow but you are unafraid for you have to confudence and security to cross even this the thinnest strip. As you make this pass the Truth starts to open in your mind’s eye. Word and expressions are flowing freely and with perfect meaning. As you turn to skate across the indigo blades psychic visions are make available to you and your own psuchic gifts are unveiled. The last journey across the lake is not across a balde of ice but instead blades of pure white Light energy from the Source itself. It is a perfect culmination of the jouney back and forth across the rainbow of Kyanite (ice) blades. Energies are vibrantly flowing freely throughout your whole being and you have to building blocks in place to realize truth and manifest intentions.
The second half of this meditation can be done immediately following of separatly from the above. We begin at your same crystal lake. Night or day whichever is more comfortable. This time though the lake is softly lapping at the shore. It is almost alive with energy and subtle movement. You notice the life going on around the lake. Birds in the trees and sky. Insects in the air and on the ground. Fish and other creatures in the lake (make this as magical as you like). Perhaps ypu are even aware of the Devic Kingdom around you. You are so enthralled with the “being” happening you don’t notice at first there is an energy field being generated around you by your chakra energies. This field becomes a bubble surrounding your whole body and allows you to float gently to the center of the Lake. This energy field carries the knowledge of the Light Library and brings you into a very serene state of “knowing”. There is no doubt, no stress, no “nothingness”. You are within the “Is” of the Universe. You realize logically if there is a “whole” there can be no “part” or “single” or “alone” or even just “one”. The self is a state on the Earth and Soul planes and the truth is on the highest plane so we can access it at will with the power of choice. Everything else melts away and you become aware that your energy field has melded with the energy field of everything else and there is no longer any sepatation whatsoever! You stay in this state until you are completely relieved, purified, and centered with the whole once again. As you beome aware of your breath again same as when you started above you give thanks to the Ancients for the discovery and sharing of Turquoise’s knowledge.
