The only way to lose weight

The Only Way to Lose weight

Obesity is a huge problem in the 21st century and is an increasing problem. Being overweight is not only unhealthy, but can affect a person mentally and dent their confidence.

It is important to know how to lose weight properly because you can make it worse doing it the wrong way. A lot of people get the

motivation to go on a diet, but end up making their weight problem worse through intuition.

This article explains the trap that most people fall into when trying to lose weight.

The Carbohdrate problem

Ok, so the first thing to say is it is Carbohydrates that cause most people to be fat rather than eating fat. Carbohydrates make up the largest proportion of most foods we eat and this is where the problem starts. When you eat too much Carbohydrate, your body can’t use it all, so it stores it as FAT.

When you are on a diet you eat less and maybe even skip meals sometimes. This makes us hungry and can be a big problem. When we are hungry we are designed to eat foods that give us energy as fast as possible. These will be sugary foods which are extremely bad for us because they are digested quickly and we get more sugar than we need into the bloodstream.

This sets off a chain of events: There will be a sugar spike in your blood, your body will take action to store it because it is not

needed. You will then experience a sugar crash which makes you feel tired and moody as well as feeling hungry again. This makes you want to eat more sugary foods for a quick pick-up. This is a horrible cycle that keeps repeating itself.

Controlling your metabolic rate

As well as this, diets induce the worse possible body environment for losing weight. They cause a low metabolism. Once you reduce the amount you eat, your body starts a defence mechanism from “cave man” times. In time when there was a lack of food, it was important to conserve energy. Eating less nowadays provokes the same reaction, which is a metabolism slow down. This is the worst thing that could happen because your metabolism is literally controls how fast you burn energy from your food. A faster metabolism will burn lots of energy and a slower metabolism will not burn as much.

The metabolism causes an effect called “Yo-Yo” dieting. This is where a person starts eating less, they lose a bit of weight, but then their metabolism slows down. They decide the diet is not working and they are always hungry from eating less, so they go back to their old eating habits. However now their metabolism has slowed down, their body doesn’t burn off as much energy as before, so they actually put on more weight than they started with. This makes them to go on another diet and the cycle starts again.

How to solve these diet problems

If you know how to solve these problems, your diet will go well. The first is to get to know the Glycemic Index, otherwise known as GI. This is a list of Carbohydrates assigned a number on how fast your body digests them. The idea is to eat lower GI foods because your body digests them slower and releases the energy gradually so that there isn’t a sugar spike. This reduces the amount stored as fat.

To prevent your metabolism from slowing down there are 2 main things you can do. Number one is a thing most people hate, but it is necessary. The answer is exercise. Physical activity will increase your metabolism and help you lose more weight.
The second thing is to eat smaller, but more frequent meals. This reduces sugar spikes, makes you feel fuller without eating more and also increases your metabolism form the increased digestive activity.

So if you follow theses simple things you will lose weight for good and not only feel happier about yourself, but you will be more healthy as well. For more information on wedding diets and the only diet that works see our site.
