Study Top Performers

Be like Mike! That slogan was popular when Michael Jordan was a very famous basketball player. Other basketball players and even other people in general just wanted to be like Mike.

Golfers and people from all walks of life now want to be like Tiger Woods. No matter what we do, we are constantly comparing ourselves with top performers in our field or other fields.

Why is that? What do Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods have that I don’t have. Money for one, and lots of it. They also have dreams, a mission and a drive making them go out and sacrifice for what they want.

Hard work and dedication are just a few traits we need when it comes to direct sales marketing. What is our drive? What makes us get off the couch and go make a phone call when our favorite show is on television or our friend has called and asked us to go hang out at the mall? The more dedication we have, the more money we will have to hang out at the mall on our day off.

I’m not saying you have to work all the time and miss your kid's birthday party, or you can't go on vacation with your family because you are working. The reason you took this job was to be with your family and help provide their wants and needs. You have to make a schedule that you are going to stick too that provides time for both and you have to work on that schedule with no distractions.

Who do you look to as a role model? Maybe it is a professional athlete, or maybe it is your parents or the top performer in your company. What is it that you most admire about them? Once you can answer that you will know what is driving you to be successful. Use this to learn how to create your personal development plan to be more like them.

Here is a thought, Take a picture of your family and put it up in your office where you can always see it. Right beside that picture find a picture of your role model and hang it up. Every time you see the pictures in your office you will remember why you are there and you will spend that day, and everyday you see the pictures, striving to meet your goals, wants and dreams.

Study all the top performers and then set your life goal list or business success list to be like them.
