oily skin care

According to its texture, skin can be divided into five types: normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, sensitive skin. It is essential to know the various types of skin, so that its treatment can be done accordingly. This article is about the oily skin. In this type of skin, the oil producing sebaceous glands are overactive and produce more oil than is needed. The oil oozes and gives the skin a greasy shine. Many people are troubled with oily skin. Actually, it is unnecessary to worry about it. Here are some useful tips.

Cleanse the face two or three times daily with good old soap and water. When cleansing, massage your face well with your fingertips, using an upward and outward motion. Be careful not to rub soap into the skin or it will clog pores. Pack a pre-moistened cleansing pad if you won't be around a water basin throughout the day.

Wash face gently. Do not over-wash the face. Too much washing will stimulate your skin to produce more oil. When washing the face, avoid harsh soaps or chemicals, and settle for more natural alternatives or simply use warm water and a soft washcloth. Do not over-scrub, but lightly and gently rub the face with the cloth.

Clay or mud masques can help. Although there are no medical studies to prove that they work, many beauty experts say that these treatments can temporarily pull oil from the pores and soak it up, leaving oily skin looking fresher for several hours afterwards.

Avoid skincare products that leave your skin feeling taut and dehydrated. They will cause the upper layers of the skin to shrink, which restricts oil flow through the pores leading to blockages and breakouts.

Remember to remove makeup at the end of the day. Never ever make the mistake of sleeping with your makeup on. Aside from being a great source of pores clogging, you will also give your facial skin a harder time to repair its lost tissues and cells with all those makeup on.

Be careful with your diet. A rich protein diet and low in sugar and salt is highly recommended. Oily skin is further aggravated by starch, processed food and sugar. Stick to a low-fat diet rich with fresh vegetables, fruits and grain. Intake of fluids is very important for maintaining a good skin tone, consumption of at least 3-4 liters a day in form of juices, tea or just plain water is recommended. Consumption of vitamins, especially vitamins A, B and C, as well as minerals is important.

Creating a glowing and non-oily skin is a time consuming process and the results are long lasting. Practicing above-mentioned tips will be very beneficial to those with oily skin.
