Went to the Video store and rented a DVD called " Predator
Island " This movie/ DVD is typical of low budget horror flicks.
The plot is basic and an often used notion of meteors crashing
to earth as the start of the action.
Add partying teenagers and you have the basic plot. There are
alot of the typical horror movie situations ( phones don't work,
radios don't work etc. )
Costumes for the alien / monster needed some work as the looked
rather cheaply done i.e. fake. The special effects were above
average in some situations ( pyro explosions on the beach ) but
the climax of the movie where they ignite natural gas in a
lighthouse was less than expected. Makeup was above average, and
the CGi was basic but a good try.
The movie wasn't spectacular but helped a rather boring night.
If you are a fan of low budget horror flicks you will like this
one but you probably wouldn't rent it a second time. With a
rating of one to five skulls five being the best I give this
three skulls.
