Just a Little Sun, Right Eating and Vitamin D3 - Anti Aging Miracle -- Wellness Coach

Vitamin D3 is moving into the super nutrient/super food category really fast, now you need to understand that all Vitamin D is not created wual and it is critical to get the "right" kind in your diet. For years it was thought Vitamin D2, and Vitamin D3 had equal effectiveness for humans. It turns out that Vitamin D2 doesn't have as long a benefit as Vitamin D3. Expers say it is Vitamin D3 that helps metabolize the calcium we take in, keeping bones strong, which is particularly important as we age.

Not only is keeping our bones strong an issue, but it also is important for your immune system helping you to fight off colds and the flu. Vitamin D can help prevent cancer, heart disease and auto-immune disease. Other conditions that can be affected are fatigue, depression and aches and pains.

Few foods are naturally rich in vitamin D, and most vitamin D intake is in the form of fortified products including mile, soy milk and cereal grans or supplements. Since it may be difficult to get enough vitamin D3 from food alone, you may wish to consider supplements. Most multivitamins provide 400 IUs of vitamin D3. Some calcium supplements also contain vitamin D3. If you are over 50 your recommended dosage would be 400IU a day and if you are over 70 it would be 600IU, Vitamin D deficiency is epidemic in the elderly.

The best supplement would be Chelated Calcium fortified with Vitamin D3, as Vitamin D3 helps the Calcium to absorb into your system, also be sure and be taking adequate dosages of Vitamin A, which you can get in a quality multi vitamin capsule.

We are also going to cover the best way to get your source of Vitamin D and that is from the sun. We know that it is touted to stay out of the sun and always use sunscreen, however, this blocks the rays which help to produce the vitamin D in the skin. This is also something we miss out on for about half the year because of our distance from the equator. If your hands, arms and face were to expose to the summer sun around midday for 10 minutes, you would make your daily quota of vitamin D.

Thought of the Day: "You've got a lot of choices. If getting out of bed in the morning is a chore and you're not smiling on a regular basis, try another choice." –Steven D. Woodhull-
