Wedding Ceremony in Ancient Greece
In the ancient Greek civilization marriage was considered to be a lucky relationship. Wedding was extremely vital to continue family chain.
In the Greek civilization every decent woman happened to be a wife in case she could. In marriage they had no rights. Fate played an essential role in official marriage.
Woman hadn’t any other option than wedding. The holy wedding ceremonies were interlinked by the variety of services. These services had ritual importance plus overlapping rites.
Revolution means, in fact, giving the duty of the woman. A lot of things indicate her change like wearing her hair short and giving it to virgin goddesses.
Greek civilization stresses upon the wedding of a young woman aged fourteen. Young men are found adequate as soon as they reach the age of thirty. Girls had to marry the man selected by her father.
Different types of ceremonies are followed in the wedding ceremony. On the marriage day, young woman wears the traditional clothing. She goes to the dinner hall having the veil on. She goes with her friends and close people.
Groom wears the best clothing. He achieves the bride’s residence in a company of friends and relatives. Music had an important role in the celebrations. After the bright feast the demonstration in a chariot moves from the residence of the bride to the residence of the groom. Bride is waiting in the cart till her spouse mounts it to start the journey. Relatives do after the chariot with lots of presents.
Bride bites an apple and in such a way she pays respect to the incorporation ceremony which shows her new connection with her spouse. Fruits are thrown on the husband and wife as a sign of richness and wealth.
Athenian wedding is the connection between a male and a female who had the major aim of giving birth to kids and upholding the character of the public and political community.
Slaves in the olden Greek society had no right to marry for the reason that marriage was thought to be the prerogative of the honored class. Any kids born from their masters had to be killed as the slaves couldn’t give birth to kids.
