Different Types of Cell Phone Plans
When choosing a cell phone plan, it is important to consider what sort of talker you are. Because different people’s needs vary, cell phone plans are anything but “one size fits all.” This is why almost all the cellular or mobile phone companies offer diverse plans that will suit different needs of their users. For people who use the phone a lot – especially during “peak” hours [also known as daytime hours] – it is important to get a somewhat more expensive plan that provides more minutes during those time periods. While most plans come standard with free nights and weekends, for many, “nights” don’t start until sometime between 7pm and 9pm. Without a solid plan, one could end up with quite the bill in overage charges. Most companies provide reasonable monthly rates, but can charge as much as $.10 per minute when it comes to going over the allotted time. The same goes for text messages. If you do not use texts, or use them infrequently, it is probably not worth the cost of a whole plan. However, if you are a frequent texter, it is wise to spend the money [usually around $10 per month or so] in order to obtain unlimited text messages. Again, if you end up going over the allotted amount, or do not have a text plan at all, each message could cost anywhere from $.30 to $.10, even. If you’re the sort who really just uses your phone on nights and weekends, chances are you’re one of the lucky ones who can get away with an affordable bill. Because so many companies do offer free nights and weekends, it’s a great way too save money. Another money-saving tip is taking advantage of rollover minutes. Many companies allow you to “roll over” your unused minutes to the next month, giving you more minutes to use without any additional costs. This is great for people who sometimes talk a lot, but other times, don’t need to talk nearly as much. It gives them far more flexibility, at a fair price. As you can see, there are many different types of cell phone plans out there. Before committing to one, as they often last anywhere from 6 months to two years, be sure to read all the fine print and think about your typical usage. This will enable you to choose the best plan for you, while maximizing your budget as well. Plus, all the money you save will enable you to buy ringtones and accessories for your phone!
