Maximise a Digital Projector Lamps Life
Digital projectors can be a fantastic addition to any home - or office for that matter. Nevertheless, any joy felt at having this big screen, surround sound and all, are very often crushed when the lamp decides to give up the ghost, quite often staying like that for a long time until you have the funds to purchase a new one. Digital projector lamps can be described as powerful light sources used in the transfer of the image from the projector onto the screen. Unfortunately, durability is not a strong point of these lamps. Even though projector lamps are supposed to be rated with an approximate life in hours, usually a lamp will die out after two to four thousand hours of use, but many actually fail a long time before that. There could be any number of causes for this. As with most manufactured products, there are faults but as most lamps have a warranty that can range from thirty days to six months, it is sods law that most lamps blow when the warranty has expired but a long way short of the lamps supposed life expectancy. To avoid problems with the lamps there are a few things that can be done to maximize their life. Be sure to always check and clean the air filter before using the projector, especially after it being stored for a period of time. Build up of dust on the filter pads can promote cooling problems with the lamp, which can cause overheating, a lamp explosion and in some extreme cases, fire. Do not move the projector at all during use because when the lamp is hot it is at its most susceptible state. Even a slight knock could cause a blown lamp. Let the lamp cool right down before turning the projector off. Try and get the inside of the projector cleaned by a specialist at least once a year to steer clear of unnecessary dust build up.
