Ways That Cell Phone Towers Could Benefit an Area

We’re living in a cellular world. So many people choose to use cellular or mobile phones over classic land lines these days, largely because they are convenient and for the most part, more affordable. However, cellular and mobile phones do not operate on magic – they require high-power cellular towers to send out the signals and waves to the telephones as necessary. Not surprisingly, many people are afraid of the towers because they are concerned about the waves and signals affecting their health. But beyond that, many people dislike the unsightly look of cellular towers.

So, what can companies to do to both meet the demands of customers who need more power, service, and coverage – while not upsetting people who do not want to look at large, bulky, unattractive cellular towers? The answers will surprise you.

One way that an area could benefit from cell phone towers would be to request that the companies help renovate old buildings or even build new ones with their funds, in exchange for being allowed to place a cellular tower in a specific area. Many towns and cities have older buildings that could use quite costly renovations, and they don’t have the tax revenue to take care of this. As such, their city skylines are marred by eyesores. Perhaps if the companies were able to put their tower up and use the building, which they would renovate, to keep the tower from also cluttering the skyline, all would benefit. The town would look nicer, and there would be more potential revenue coming in from the new, renovated building. The customers of the cell phone company would be pleased by the expanded service. And of course, the company would be happy with their new customers and expanded revenue. This sort of renovation is a win-win situation for both an area as well as the company, and really does some good. Besides, who doesn’t like some positive public relations? Hearing Virgin Mobile or Nokia renovated an old building, church, or any other depilated space would make for great news stories, with all the happy people standing around the new and improved building.

So many of the cellular and mobile companies are in need of a good reputation face lift, so to speak. Isn’t that the case for most of the corporations in the United States right now, though? As such, there is no reason for companies to not find creative ways to do the things they need – while also doing good for the communities they are a part of. This is why combining the building of new cell phone towers with much-needed town renovations is an excellent idea that should be considered by both the companies as well as the people in charge of the towns and cities in need.
