Paris Short Stays always get me excited..

Very few cities in Europe can compete with Paris as a romantic destination; it has the ability to please everyone and is often referred to as The City of Lights. Paris short stays are primarily taken by couples wanting a romantic weekend; you will however, discover that more time is required to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

This city is also equally well known for its Gothic architecture and markets; the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre must not go unmentioned. Traveling around Paris is relatively easy for visitors as well as locals; the underground train system or Metro can take you to anywhere within the city and is simple to use.

At almost 1,000 feet high, the Eiffel Tower is an impressive sight; it can be seen from any point within the city and the superb views just can't be matched by those looking at it from the ground. Illuminated in the evening, it is one of the most beautiful sights in the entire city; if you are really enthusiastic you can take a tour where the guide will tell you how this beautiful tower was built.

The famous Paris Avenue ‘the Champs Elysees' must also receive a visit; it's where you will find all the top class hotels, shops and restaurants. This avenue may be select but it attracts large numbers of visitors daily; top class hotels are found here, although if you want to stay at a more reasonably priced hotel, they are available outside of the city center.

A trip to would not be complete without a visit to the Louvre museum; it holds in excess of 300,000 pieces of art, which cannot possibly be seen in a single visit. A short stay in Paris only ever allows a small appreciation of what is on offer; with so many visitors (around eight million), sometimes it can be difficult seeing some of the famous works. Over the years, Paris has been home to many of the world's famous artists; these include Monet and Picasso who very fortunately left some of their work here for all to enjoy.

Another famous Paris attraction is The Arc de Triomphe which was built within the first decade of the nineteenth century; engraved with the names of generals that commanded his troops, it has become a popular photo spot for tourists visiting Paris. A little known fact is that there's a viewing observatory built into the building allowing the whole area to be viewed; in particular those obtained along the lanes that lead from it.

Obviously, these are not the only places to visit; but these should certainly not to be missed because many offer regular guided tours, some at little or no charge at all. A Paris short stay vacation will probably be best suited as just a taster of the city; a longer break here will be necessary if you really want to experience everything this wonderful city has to offer.
