Paris; feed obsession
One of the favorite city destinations in Western Europe noted for its romantic appeal is Paris; it sits on the banks of the river Seine and is also known as the City of Lights. Renowned for its modern art and breathtaking scenery a short stay in Paris is the ideal location for a romantic weekend break; the desire to stay longer is strong as there is so much to see and do. Visitors flock to see its many wonderful buildings; it is the home of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and many other famous tourist attractions. Traveling through the city of Paris can be very enjoyable; the underground train system or Metro can take you to anywhere within the city and is simple to use. The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall and is a magnificent steel structure; it can be seen from any point within the city and the superb views just can't be matched by those looking at it from the ground. You can be assured of an even more beautiful sight if you visit in the evening when it is illuminated; if you are really enthusiastic you can take a tour where the guide will tell you how this beautiful tower was built. The famous Paris Avenue ‘the Champs Elysees' must also receive a visit; it will present you with many famous designer shops and good restaurants. This is an ‘up-market' area that attracts thousands of tourists each day; most of the five star hotels are located here but more affordable hotels can be found further out. A trip to would not be complete without a visit to the Louvre museum; with over 300,000 wonderful artistic works, you simply cannot see all of it in one day. On a Paris short stay vacation it would be easy to spend entire weekend here; some of the most important art collections in the world are here including Leonardo da Vinci's world famous Mona Lisa. What makes Paris special is the number of artists that have been attracted to this great capital; the likes of Monet, Picasso and many others lived in the city for years and some of their work can still be seen today. Of course, Napoleon commissioned the construction of the Arc de Triomphe, another Paris landmark; the names of his generals engraved upon it to honor them and his troops. It also features an observatory to take in surrounding views; it is located in Place Charles de Gaulle where twelve of the city's main avenues start, including Avenue de Champs Elysees. This city has a huge variety of places to visit, many of these have not even mentioned here; there are plenty of others to keep you occupied but to make the most of your time, use one of the guided tours. Unfortunately, short stays in Paris can be demanding on visitors; a longer break here will be necessary if you really want to experience everything this wonderful city has to offer.Experience Paris, even if its only for a short stay...
