Obviously the worst place to look for them is your warm market which is your friends, relatives and everyone else you know. Have you seen any real entrepreneur going after his relatives to find customers or associates? Of course not.
They know very well that they should target people interested in what the have to offer. They don't waste time for chit chat with everyone. They want to make sure first that the other party has a genuine interest in what they are offering and the chance of becoming customers or associates into his organization are as high as possible.

The entrepreneur finds out first his target market, then where he can find them and last he creates compelling advertising to reach these people and generate leads for his business. Likewise you should also follow that simple formula and repeat its steps.
So in order to find them you should know first who they are. What kind of people would be interested to get involved in network marketing or in a business opportunity in general? Sit down and think about. Try to make their profile. Well, the first one you already got it, it's someone like you when you began in this industry.
After you complete the first step is easier to draw conclusions on where you can find these people. What media and places they frequent that you could possibly target them there and what they are looking for.
Now your advertising gets much easier cause you already know about their character and is more easy to tailor your message so it can speak to their heart.
