How to spot the fraud psychic

Psychic frauds – How to spot them

Have you been to visit a psychic lately? If so, then the range of your emotions perhaps has gone from “How do they know that?” to “I didn’t think they knew much”. These are perfectly legitimate feelings but then there is the feeling of being conned. How do you spot the fraud?

Here are some clues which give the game away.

1. The psychic is not really getting down to business. S/he is fussing with clothing, cards, hair, candles etc and then spends an inordinate time telling you how great s/he is.

2. The psychic tells you something that frightens or alarms you.

3.  The psychic tells you that you need further readings, treatments, consultations etc.

4.  The psychic is charging an unrealistic fee which is too high for the service given.

Remember, this is your time and your money. The psychic should require little preparation time. Whereas the cards are necessary to some psychics to others they are not. Some of the best readings I have been given are done with Tarot cards but beware the psychic who doesn’t appear to know what they are doing. They should be able to interpret the cards without stumbling.

A true psychic will never tell you something that frightens or alarms you in anyway. They will not be given this information by the Spirit world in the first place and in the second as you are a loved and beloved child of the Universe why would the Universe want to frighten a loved one. Your readings you receive should be uplifting and you should come away feeling loved and special, as indeed you are. That is not to say that you may not get a caution but it will always be done in such a way that you feel good about yourself. An example of this may be that “there is a lot of clutter around you” so that you are not focussing on, or making room for, other things. If this is said to you, know that all that is meant by the statement is exactly what the words mean. No more, no less. There should never be a fear element and if you hear one statement which makes you uneasy then do not walk away – run.

If you are told that you need further readings, spiritual healings, consultations or treatments then again run away. Your reading should be a stand alone event. There is no reason that a psychic will tell you to come back other than to make you dependent on their readings, healings etc. A rule of thumb is to have one reading per year and no more. Your psychic should also be honest enough to tell you if they are not picking up any information about you. If this is the case then they should not charge you either, though I have known psychics who still charge even if they are picking up no information. In this case I would not call it fraud but I may consider the practice unethical, which of course is different. Remember that there is no disgrace in the psychic not picking up information. Sometimes we just do not get any messages. Where the disgrace comes from is in not being honest about it.

Now I come to the tricky subject of fees. There are some that believe that the fee structure is merely an exchange of energy. By this I mean that if the psychic gives you their time and skill then that is a giving of energy. You in turn give a payment and that is you giving energy in the form of money. The balance is restored. However, this balance may not be a balance at all. You may be charged too much which will result in resentment on your part or the psychic may charge too little which will result in the psychic not being able to meet their financial commitments and where this is the case the psychic will be the loser in the energy exchange. The optimum situation is one of balance when both sides feel that a good trade of energy has been exchanged. An average cost is around £30/35 per half hour. I have known psychics charge more and some charge less but the charge should not be excessively higher. Certainly you should be told before the psychic starts what the cost will be. So enjoy your visit to the psychic but keep your wits about you and remember that you are the best judge of what is right for you.
